In my 30 years of knowing Neil as my pastor, mentor and friend I really appreciate his integrity, knowledge, wisdom and willingness to be an example of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Neil’s love and passion for biblical truth (Gospel centered) and its application to our life so we can experience spiritual growth is his focus. Neil’s model for ministry is an apostolic approach to equipping the church to do the work of the ministry; in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God to maturity in Christ (Eph. 4:11-16). Neil has faithfully served the church with his gifts, to which I’m grateful to have been a part of and benefited.
Thank you Neil!
The teaching ministry and burden Neil has for the church and those he is in relationship with has deeply impacted my life. His passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ and his attention to accuracy regarding it are a God send to a generation that is struggling to know the truth. Neil’s teaching and friendship have been a tremendous blessing to me and aided me greatly in my growth spiritually. How ability to speak the truth in love has been used of God many times in personal journey. He has also been an indispensable asset to the church I planted many years ago, as he has labored with me to establish elders and train leaders over the years and continues to do so to this day. I would consider Neil to be one of the foremost teachers available to the church in our time. His depth of understanding and ability to communicate in a powerfully effective manner have been wonderfully received in many churches throughout the U.S and beyond. I feel privileged to have benefited from his ministry and friendship for nearly 30 years. I pray there are many more years in the plan of the Father.
John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
I have known Neil for over 20 years and God has used him to shape my life in so many ways. One thing that comes to mind is when I went through the most difficult time in my life, Neil was like a father to me; listening to me, praying for me, and giving me great counsel from the Word of God. God has also used him to challenge me to make sure that what I believe and therefore what I preach is grounded in Scripture and not merely a philosophy of man. In my opinion, he is a true apostle and one of the premier Bible teachers in the land and I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone!
Neil Silverberg has greatly impacted my life as a follower of Christ, husband, father, teacher, and pastor. I assure you there is no exaggeration or embellishment there. I have benefited mightily from his ministry for the last 16 years. He has been instrumental in discipling me as a young pastor from afar (as we have never lived less than a couple hundred miles apart from each other). He has mentored and fanned into flame the gift that is within me. Beyond mere encouragement, Neil has engaged me in formalized studies in theology, doctrine, biblical studies, and church strategy. Being under his teaching and seeing his gift in operation was seminal to the development of my love and understanding of Scripture as well as the developing of my own teaching gift. With Neil, at times, it has been like drinking from a fire hydrant! The importance of teaching the whole counsel of God’s Word has been life-changing for me as well as, for my congregation. The disciples they make, likewise, will have profited because of his investment in my life. Additionally, Neil was a vital part of installing me in the senior leadership role in the church that I pastor as well. He currently serves with two other men as part of our oversight/outside counsel team for our local church.
I’ve personally known Neil for 35 years, his insights into scripture make the Bible come alive. He powerfully presents Jesus Christ as the center of all things. Not to mention, he’s a part time comedian.
Although I have only known Neil for a scant 5 years and been under his direct pastoral discipleship for the past year, I can firmly state he has significantly influenced my life in the most positive of ways. Neil has the ability to guide, teach and offer wisdom without talking down to, nor elevating himself above those whom he disciples. He has rare humility for someone of his learning and gifting and it shows in how he works with those God brings to him. His discipling comes in a great variety of forms from rigorous scriptural exposition and teaching to a phone call just to say he wanted to see how I was doing. That pastoral care is a gift and it is both genuine (these things cannot be faked) and powerful. For almost 10 years I had prayed and asked God for a pastoral mentor and I will always be grateful to my God for sending me Neil.
